Also this week, we've added more volunteers and release staff capacity, local unions have prepared to send out their last mail pieces by next week - Oct. 21st, we have prepped and mailed out our second round of postcards to members -- this time, all about getting out the vote, and we've overall, done a fantastic job in moving forward towards Election Day with all of our hard work.

Wow -- our biggest week yet! We are in the full swing of GOTV -- Get Out The Vote efforts, and things are rocking and rolling!
We had the largest turnout this week at our canvass launches, and thanks to all of our volunteers who made it possible. We are having awesome conversations on the doors, phones, and at the mailboxes of our fellow union voters. Union members are fired up and ready to vote (if they haven't already) for Kamala-Walz and our union-endorsed candidates Senator Tim Kaine and their respective Congressional candidate in their district.

Labor 2024 - Week 5
September 29 - October 5, 2024
We are officially 4 weeks out from the election! And union members across the Commonwealth, we will decide Virginia's fate - the fate of unions, and the fate of every working family from Virginia to California to everywhere in between!
All week we were burning up the phone lines and beating the pavement bringing all the good election information to our union members' doors, and our work hasn't gone unnoticed as all across the state union-endorsed candidates are turning up and showing out at our Saturday canvass walks!
We kicked off things in Western this weekend as well, and they were fired up and ready to go!
Turnout this week topped the charts again, and so did the fun! It would not have happened if it weren't for our amazing canvass launch sponsors:
**Special thank you to our Saturday walk sponsors - UAW 2069 in Western, NALC in Eastern, IATSE 487 & IBEW 666 in Central, and FCFT 2401 in NOVA!
It is because of their adoption of a Saturday walk, that we have a great turnout, great food, and great fun!
Luckily, there's still more fun to be had - you heard it earlier in the newsletter -- we have exactly 4 weeks to kick up the fun and turn up the union fire! There's a lot to do -- we need volunteers to phone bank, knock doors, and write post cards.
REMINDER: Local unions, have you sent a piece of mail to your members about the election? If not, there's no time like the present! Reach out to your Zone Lead for assistance! We have to make one last push -- get that mail out before October 21st in order to ensure your members hear from you on this election.
You can request your ballot or vote early in person this year right now. Learn all the details on early vote and getting registered/updating your registration and more on our Voting Info page. Be sure to review and share the important dates and details needed to cast a ballot this election.

Labor 2024 - Week 4
September 22 - 28, 2024
Week 4 -- It can only be up from here! This week we saw hurricanes and wild weather rock parts of the U.S. including Virginia, and we send our love, prayers, thoughts, and support to those effected by the storm. Here in Virginia, we also saw some serious damage in Southwest with lots of rain, flooding, power outages, heavy winds, and much more. And although we were keeping our eyes out for more residual weather effects across the state, labor activists didn't let it stop them from talking to union members about the election -- post card writers, phone bankers, and door knockers turned up all week to make sure union members were being heard and that they were being educated on the upcoming election .
**Special thank you to our Saturday walk sponsors - AFGE Locals 1992 & 3380 in Central, ATU 689 in NOVA, and USW 8888 in Eastern!
All in all, we are working hard, but we are now almost a month a way from Election Day -- Virginians can early vote (in some localities on Sunday(s)) and they can register to vote on Election Day as well -- that being said, we need more hands on deck to make things shake out in favor of working people this election because there is so much to do and so little time! Help us recruit some more union members to help in the efforts of Labor 2024. Be sure to check out our calendar page to sign up for our virtual phone banks, canvass launches, and more held in your area throughout the week!

Labor 2024 - Week 2
September 9 - 14, 2024
Second week is down in the books! This week we made more calls and knocked even more doors!
**Special thank you to our Saturday walk sponsors - IAM 1759 in NOVA, CWA 2201 in Central, and CWA 2205 in Eastern!
At our Saturday canvasses, union activists came together to talk to other union members about the election, and this week proved to be the week of our well-seasoned union activists on the doors, and they had a blast while they knocked until they couldn't knock anymore.
This election season, Virginia is at a pivotal point where with each week we come closer and closer to putting pro-labor, working family friendly candidates in office to ensure that we protect our union and working family rights. The issues of today, could be resolved with every union member's vote casted this November. This is why we will continue to talk to our members and more importantly, listen to what they care about when it comes to daily life and who they will vote for.
Speaking of voting...We are gearing up for early vote, which begins next week, Friday, September 20th. Be sure to let your union members and family and friends know all about how to early vote by checking out our info page.

Labor 2024 - Canvas Kick-Off
September 2 - 7, 2024
What a first week ! Well...actually, we have been full force in the Labor 2024 cycle since the beginning of summer with our great release staff, but this week, we had great labor day celebrations across the state and to end the week, we kicked off our Saturday canvasses with a great turnout of union activists to knock doors of our fellow union members!
**Special thank you to Eastern Virginia Labor Federation, UA Local 10, and NATCA for sponsoring our first walks of the cycle across the state!
This year, it's all hands on deck as we ramp up our real conversations on the phones and on the doors with our union members about the issues that are most important to them, and if not more importantly, what's at stake this election cycle. All across the state, union members have been talking to other union members to hear what they care about, to inform them about the importance of voting in this election, reminding them of voting changes, assisting in updating voter registrations, and giving all the important dates and details needed to cast a ballot this election.
Our volunteers this week kicked it off knocking tons of doors! Some great conversations and responses occurred throughout all the excitement of being able to come together. You can really feel the excitement and momentum this year when speaking to our members -- they are fired up and ready to go!
